Les États-Unis honore son corps d’infanterie par l’émission de cette monnaie de 1 Dollar en argent. Le 4 juin 1775, le second Congrès Continental autorisait la création de 10 compagnies d’infanterie légères, l’embryon de ce qui allait devenir les forces armées des États-Unis. Quinze présidents ont servi dans l’infanterie dont Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant et Dwight Eisenhower.
The United States honors its infantry corps with the issuance of this silver dollar coin. On June 4, 1775, the Second Continental Congress authorized the creation of 10 light infantry companies, the embryo of what would become the United States Armed Forces. Fifteen presidents served in the infantry, including Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, and Dwight Eisenhower.
