Commentary
Le Dakota faisait partie de la Louisiane achetée en 1803 à la France. Le 2 novembre 1889, le territoire du Dakota est scindé en deux et les deux états entrent dans l’Union. Il est très difficile de savoir lequel du Dakota du Nord ou du Dakota du Sud a été intégré en premier puisque la signature a eu lieu le même jour.
