Gui Foulquois le Gros is a former secretary of the King of France Louis IX and was Archbishop of Narbonne. He was elected pope in Perugia on February 5, 1265 while in England. He was consecrated on the following February 15. In 1266, he put Charles of Anjou, brother of Saint Louis, on the throne of the Kingdom of Naples. He died in Viterbo on September 29, 1268..
