L’Union monétaire ouest-africaine (UMOA) est une zone monétaire regroupant huit pays d'Afrique de l'Ouest : le Bénin (ex- Dahomey), le Burkina Faso (Haute-Volta), la Côte d'Ivoire, la Guinée-Bissau,, le Mali, le Niger, le Sénégal et le Togo.
Elle fut créée le 12 mai 1962. Le siège de la commission de l'UMOA est à Abidjan. L'UMOA s'occupe des questions monétaires. Elle ne doit pas être confondue avec l'Union économique et monétaire ouest-africaine (UEMOA). Cette dernière fait du développement et de l'intégration économiques, ses pivots d'engagement.
