Commentary

Les Établissements des Détroits faisaient partie de la colonie de Malaisie, administrée jusqu'en 1853 par la Compagnie des Indes Orientales (EIC). Le territoire passa sous contrôle de l'Inde Anglaise de 1858 à 1867 avant de devenir colonie de la Couronne cette année là. .
The Straits Settlements were part of the colony of Malaya, administered until 1853 by the East India Company (EIC). The territory was under British control from 1858 to 1867 before becoming a Crown Colony that year.
