(1476-1516)
Isabella (1451-1504) had been Queen of Castile since 1474. She had married Ferdinand of Aragon (1452-1516), King of Aragon since 1479. After the capture of Granada in 1492, they were monarchs of the whole of Spain. Isabelle helped Christopher Columbus finance the expedition that allowed him to discover America.
