Suite à l'abdication du souverain constitutionnel Juan Carlos Ier d'Espagne le 18 juin 2014, son fils prit sa succession sous le nom de Felipe VI d'Espagne.
Nouveau règne signifie donc nouveau type monétaire à l'effigie du roi Felipe VI.
