Exemplaire sur un flan très large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec la couronne complète au revers. Belle tête de Kymé. Joli revers, de haut relief. Jolie patine de collection ancienne. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Monétaire Démétrios. Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire du trésor de Kirikhan (Oakley pl. 1, n° 4b). Cet exemplaire provient très certainement du trésor de Kirikhan

AIOLIS - CYME

(3rd - 2nd century BC)

Cymé, today Sandakli, one of the most important cities of the Aeolian coast, was located south of Myrhina. It had a port and was founded by Locrians. She herself is at the origin of the foundation of Side in Pamphylia and of Cumae in Campania. It is the homeland of Hesiod.
