Obverse description : Au centre, le blason de la ville de Mazamet représentant dans sa partie haute trois abeilles alignées et dans sa partie basse un coq. L’écu est surmonté d’un croissant. Au-dessus, la devise de la ville inscrite dans une banderolle, avec une faute d’orthographe dans le premier mot : CRUSCAM (au lieu de CRESCAM) ET LUCEBO (je grandirai et je resplendirai). L’écu est cerné par une couronne de laurrier..
