Reverse description : Pax (la Paix) drapée debout à gauche, les jambes croisées, appuyée sur une colonne, tenant de la main droite, une branche d’olivier et de la main gauche, un long sceptre transversal.

AEMILIANUS

Emilian was governor of Moesia in 252, when Trebonian Galle entrusted him with the mission of repelling the Goths who had broken the Danubian limes. Emilien succeeds; he is proclaimed emperor by his troops. He marched on Italy and challenged Trebonian Galle and Volusian at Terni. Recognized by the Senate, he was finally assassinated in Spoleto by his soldiers who joined Valerian I.
