Ptolemy VI was the eldest son of Ptolemy V and Cleopatra I Thea. The regency of his mother lasted until 176 BC and reigned jointly with her brother Ptolemy VIII 170-164 BC He married his sister Cleopatra II whom he had two daughters and Ptolemy VII. He died of his wounds in battle Alexander I Balas.
