Sur cet exemplaire, le portrait est parfaitement centré et les traits du Pharaon ne ressemblent plus à ceux de Ptolémée Ier.
In this example, the portrait is perfectly centered and the Pharaoh's features no longer resemble those of Ptolemy I.

Historical background

EGYPT - LAGID OR PTOLEMAIC KINGDOM - PTOLEMY V EPIPHANES

(204-180 BC)

Ptolemy V, king at 5, died at 29. He was crowned Pharaoh in Memphis in 197 BC. This event was immortalized by the Rosetta stone that Champollion was to transcribe 2,000 years later, delivering the key to the hieroglyphic writing. Ptolemy V married Cleopatra I, daughter of Antiochus III, and left two minor sons: Ptolemy VI and VIII.
