Commentary

This very rare variant appears in LA TOUR but seems to have been neglected by the authors of the New Atlas and is also missing from their supplement volume. However, the concordance table in Volume III with the Atlas of Gallic Coins by H. of LA TOUR indicates the series 881 “quinaires anepigraphs with helmeted heads (Aedui)”, for the coinage LT 5099! This type is extremely rare even though the authors of Moneta IV would have listed around twenty copies, from various origins?
