Historical background

DUCHY OF LORRAINE - FERRI IV

(1312-1328)

Ferri IV was born on April 12, 1282 at the Château de Gondreville. He is the son of Thibaut II and succeeded him after his death in 1312. His reign on the ducal throne was only a long series of battles with his neighbours, the Dukes of Bar and the Bishops of Metz. Ferri IV died in 1328 fighting the Flemings alongside Philip IV the Fair at the Battle of Cassel.
