Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, bien centré avec les grènetis visibles, un peu court sur la légende de droit. Beau portrait particulier de Domitien César. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Caesar under Titus

Domitian receives the title of Caesar, therefore heir to the Empire, at the same time as his brother Titus in December 69. He is proclaimed "Princeps Iuventutis" (Prince of Youth), a title he retains even after death of his father in 79. After the death of his brother Titus on September 13, 81, he became emperor. His reign lasted fifteen years and ended with his assassination by members of the court..
