DOMBES - PRINCIPALITY OF DOMBES - ANNE-MARIE-LOUISE D'ORLÉANS

(1657-1693)

Anne-Marie-Louis d'Orléans, known as the "Grande Mademoiselle", is the daughter of Gaston d'Orléans and Marie de Bourbon-Montpensier. She died in 1693, leaving the principality of Dombes to Louis Auguste de Bourbon, Duke of Maine, son of Louis XIV legitimized in 1673. Louis Charles de Bourbon, Count of Eu, on March 28, 1762, exchanged the principality of Dombes for the duchy of Gisors. From this date, the principality of Dombes returned to the crown of France.
