Très beau portrait. Bien centré des deux côtés. Flan légèrement ovale et irrégulier Revers de style très fin. Une fine patine grise recouvre l’exemplaire. Une minuscule oxydation au revers devant l’Espérance

Le portrait de ce denier est tout à fait réaliste et de haute qualité. Trace de frappe incuse du droit.

Caesar
Diadumenian becomes Caesar when his father Macrin is proclaimed august in April 217. He receives the title of prince of youth. Macrinus brings him into the Severian family by making him take the prænomen of Antoninus, as he himself seized that of Severus. After the proclamation of Elagabalus, Macrinus raised his son to august in May 218 for a very short period. Beaten in June, Macrin and Diaduménien fled. The latter is caught while trying to pass to the Parthians by crossing the Euphrates. He is killed.
