Reverse legend : PRINC IVVENTVTIS.
Reverse description : Diaduménien debout à gauche la tête tournée à droit, vêtu militairement, tenant un bâton de la main droite et un sceptre court de la gauche ; derrière, deux enseignes militaires.
Reverse translation : “Princeps Iuventutis”, (Prince de la jeunesse).

Pois léger. Le buste est seulement drapé, pas de ptéryges sous le paludamentum.

Caesar

Diadumenian becomes Caesar when his father Macrin is proclaimed august in April 217. He receives the title of prince of youth. Macrinus brings him into the Severian family by making him take the prænomen of Antoninus, as he himself seized that of Severus. After the proclamation of Elagabalus, Macrinus raised his son to august in May 218 for a very short period. Beaten in June, Macrin and Diaduménien fled. The latter is caught while trying to pass to the Parthians by crossing the Euphrates. He is killed.
