Guigues VIII succeeded Jean II (1312-1319). Betrothed as a child to Isabelle de France (1312-1348), the daughter of Philippe V le Long and Jeanne de Bourgogne, he married the young princess in 1323, but died ten years later. Humbert II, who succeeded him (1333-1349), was the last dauphin of the Viennese.
