DANZIG (Free City)


Following the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, the city of Danzig is detached from Germany in 1920 and became a free city under the protection of the League of Nations. On 1 September 1939, Germany is the territory of the Free City of Danzig and Annex tomorrow. In 1945, it was attached to Poland and finally takes the name of Gdansk.
