Commentary
A l’origine, la médaille présentait une monture et était distribuée après la participation à la guerre de 1848-1850. Cette dernière est la première guerre de Schleswig. Elle opposait la Confédération germanique au Danemark. Il y en aura une seconde en 1864. Elles font suite à la succession des Duchés.
Un exemplaire est visible au musée Carnavalet.

(1906-1912)
Frederick VIII (1843-1912) is the eldest son of Christian IX. He is the brother of Alexandra, the wife of Edward VII, and Marie, that of Alexander III of Russia. His eldest son, Christian X, became king of Denmark in 1912, his younger son Haakon had become king of Norway in 1905.
