Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Crispus César à gauche, vu de trois quarts en avant, avec haste et bouclier en avant (F*8).

Obverse translation : “Crispus Nobilissimus Caesar”, (Crispus très noble césar).

Reverse legend : ROMAE AE-TERNAE/ P|R// RQ.

Reverse description : Rome assise à droite, inscrivant X/V sur un bouclier qu’elle tient sur ses genoux ; à côté d’elle, un bouclier.

Reverse translation : “Romæ Æternæ”, (À Rome éternelle).

Commentary

Au revers, les lettres P et R sont “Populus Romanus” (le Peuple romain). Les chiffres X et V inscrits sur le bouclier se rapportent au quindecennalia (quinzième anniversaire de règne) de Constantin Ier .
On the reverse, the letters P and R stand for “Populus Romanus” (the Roman People). The numerals X and V inscribed on the shield refer to the quindecennellalia (fifteenth anniversary of the reign) of Constantine I.
