Exemplaire sur un flan bien centré des deux côtés. Usure importante mais régulière. L’exemplaire reste parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Joli aigle. Patine grise

Historical background


CRETE - LYTTOS

(320-270 BC)

Lyttos, mentioned in the Iliad (II, 647), is located in the eastern part of the island. It would have been founded by Lyktos, son of Lykaon, king of Arcadia. Lyttos was destroyed by Aetolian mercenaries with the help of Knossos (220 BC.).
