Faustus was a faithful ally of Pompey. After crossing the Rubicon by Caesar in 49 BC, he followed his father in Greece and was one of his faithful lieutenants. After Pharsalia (48 AC)., He joined the Pompeian forces in Africa and was defeated by Caesar Thapsus where the young Cato was killed. Faustus fled with Juba, king of Mauretania, was captured alive, but killed by the troops. Caesar spared his wife and children.
