An alloy of tin and lead. Père Duchêne was a daily newspaper distributed cheaply on the streets in the early days of the revolution. It was conceived by a certain Lemaire, a postal worker who later became a bookseller. The paper aimed to present the new constitution and the beneficial changes brought about by the revolution from a perspective favorable to the lower classes (see Hennin).
