Ruban collier aux couleurs de la France : bleu, blanc, rouge. Largeur du ruban : 94 mm, longueur du ruban : environ 60 cm
Poids total en incluant le ruban : 91,45g

Cette médaille est assez importante par sa destination. C’était la marque distinctive qui devait être portée par les membres de l’Assemblée Nationale Législative, d’après le décret rendu par l’Assemblée le 12 juillet 1792 et sanctionné par le roi le 22 du même mois : “L’assemblée Nationale décrète que les membres du Corps Législatif porteront dans le lieu de leurs séances, et quand ils feront partie d’une députation, ou rempliront une commission, un ruban aux trois couleurs en trois bandes ondées. Ce ruban sera placé en sautoir ; les tables de la loi seront attachées à son extrémité inférieure : le livre sera de métal doré et ouvert. On lira sur le folio verso les mots : Droits de l’homme et sur le folio recto, le mot : Constitution”.

This was the distinctive mark that had to be worn by the members of the National Legislative Assembly, according to the decree issued by the Assembly on July 12, 1792 and sanctioned by the king on the 22nd of the same month: “The National Assembly decrees that the members of the Legislative Body will wear in the place of their sessions, and when they are part of a deputation, or fill a commission, a ribbon of three colors in three wavy bands. This ribbon will be placed in saltire; the tables of the law will be attached to its lower end: the book will be of gilded metal and open. On the back folio will read the words: Rights of Man and on the front folio, the word: Constitution”
