Exemplaire sur un petit flan bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait de Constantin II élancé et inhabituel. Joli revers de style fin. Patine gris métallique avec des reflets dorés

Obverse description : Buste lauré et cuirassé de Constantin II César à gauche, vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant un globe nicéphore de la main droite et le parazonium de la main gauche (I*5 var).
Obverse translation : “Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Constantin le jeune très noble césar).

Reverse description : Globe posé sur un autel surmonté de trois étoiles.

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
