Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale avec les grènetis visibles. Usure importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Patine marron foncé

Obverse description : Le Christ en pied debout de face sur une estrade, nimbé, vêtu du pallium et du colombium, tenant les Évangiles des deux mains.

Constantine X succeeded Isaac I Comnenus who had been deposed. Constantine's wife, Eudocia, is the niece of the Patriarch of Constantinople. Constantin must face a triple danger: the Normans in Sicily, the Uzes (Turkish tribe) in the Balkans and the Seljuks in Asia Minor. On his death, his wife succeeded him, ensuring the regency for his sons Michael VII and Constantine. The Empire faces a grave crisis.
