Flan large avec un revers exceptionnel, mais une faiblesse de frappe sur le paludamentum. Patine marron

Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II à droite vu de trois quarts en avant (A*).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Claudius Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Claude Constantin jeune très noble césar).

Reverse legend : PRINCIPI I-VENTVTIS/ T|F// BTR.
Reverse description : Constantin II debout à droite, vêtu militairement, tenant une haste transversale de la main droite et un globe de la gauche.
Reverse translation : “Principi Juventutis”, (Prince de la Jeunesse).

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
