Exemplaire sur un petit flan, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait inhabituel. Joli revers de style fin. Patine gris foncé avec des reflets métalliques

Obverse description : Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II à gauche vu de trois quarts en avant (B*11).

Reverse description : Labarum entre deux captifs assis dos à dos.

Commentary
Poids très léger. Avec l’intégralité de son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges fines visibles des deux côtés.

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
