Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait. Revers de style fin. Belle patine marron foncé lissée. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe

Obverse description : Buste tête nue, drapé et cuirassé de Constantin II, vu de trois quarts en avant (A°).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Claudius Constantinus Iunior Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Claude Constantin le jeune très noble césar).

Reverse legend : CLARIT-AS REIPVBLICAE/ T|F// .ATR.
Reverse description : Sol (Le Soleil) radié à demi nu, debout de face regardant à gauche, levant la main droite et tenant un globe de la gauche.

Caesar
Born in February 317 according to the most recent chronology, Constantine the Younger receives on coins the title of Caesar like his half-brother Crispus and his cousin Licinius, as well as the title of Prince of Youth. Constantine II is the eldest son of Constantine I and Fausta. In September 337, he received the "pars occidentalis" from the Empire with subjection to his brother Constans, Constantius II having the "pars orientalis". Very quickly, Constantin and Constans fall out. The eldest is eliminated in April 340.
