Reverse legend : SOLI INV-I-CTO COMITI/ M|F// PARL.
Reverse description : Sol (le Soleil) radié à demi nu, le manteau sur l’épaule, debout à droite, tournée à gauche, levant la main droite et tenant un globe de la gauche.
Reverse translation : “Soli Invicto Comiti”, (Au compagnon le Soleil invincible).

Commentary


Poids léger. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Philippe Ferrando n’a recensé que quatre monnaies de ce type dont deux en musées !.
Lightweight. Type 3 ribbons with pelleted ends. Philippe Ferrando has only identified four coins of this type, two of which are in museums!

Augustus

Constantine was born in 274, son of Constance Chlore and Helena. He was named Caesar on the death of his father on July 25, 306 and was proclaimed august on December 25, 307. He married Fausta, the daughter of Maximien Hercule, who gave him five children, three of whom were augusts. The first twenty years of his reign are devoted to imposing himself as the main august against Maximian Hercules, Galerius, Maxentius, Maximin II and Licinius. He is recognized as the first Christian emperor, although baptized only on his deathbed on May 22, 337.
