Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier. Beau portrait stylisé de Constance II. Revers de haut relief bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine vert foncé

Obverse description : Buste diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Constance II auguste à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A'b) ; diadème perlé formé de cabochons gemmés.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Constantius Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Constance pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse description : Constance II lauré en habit militaire, debout à gauche sur un vaisseau qui vogue à gauche, tenant un globe surmonté d’un phénix radié de la main droite et le labarum chrismé de la gauche ; à droite, Victoria (la Victoire) assise se tournant à gauche, tenant le gouvernail.
Reverse translation : “Felicitas Temporum Reparatio”, (Le retour des temps heureux).

August (9/09/337-3/11/361)

Constantius II was born on August 7 318 Sirmium. It is high césarat 8 November 324 at the age of six years. He will reign thirty-seven years, one of the longest reigns of the fourth century. After crushing the revolt of Magnentius, it is only august with a caesar, Constance Galle, he has performed in 354. November 6, 355, he raises his cousin Julien under Caesar. He went to Rome in 357, then at Sirmium he made it his capital. Before the Sassanid danger, he leaves this region 359 and settled in Antioch. Julien was proclaimed in February august 360. Constance died 3 November 361, leaving Julien at the head of the Empire.
