Belle petite monnaie sur un flan idéalement centré. Superbe buste richement détaillé au droit, et revers d’un style fin, très bien venu à la frappe. Patine marron

Obverse description : Buste lauré et cuirassé de Constance II césar à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (B*).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Julius Constantius Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Jules Constance très noble césar).

Reverse legend : GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS/ -|-// SMANH.
Reverse description : Deux soldats debout face à face, casqués et vêtus militairement, tenant chacun une haste et s'appuyant sur un bouclier ; au milieu, deux enseignes militaires.
Reverse translation : “Gloria Exercitus”, (La gloire de l'armée).

Caesar
Constantius II was born on August 7, 318 in Sirmium. He was raised to the cesarat on November 8, 324 at the age of six. In 337, after the death of his father, it was he who murdered or allowed most of his collateral family, descendants of Constantius Chlorus and Theodora. Only Constance Galle and Julien escape the massacre.
