Exemplaire sur un flan large bien centré avec les grènetis complets. Beau buste de Constance II. Joli revers de haut relief. Belle patine grise avec des reflets métalliques

Obverse description : Buste lauré et cuirassé de Constance II à gauche, vu de trois quarts en avant (B*1).
Obverse translation : “Flavius Iulius Constantius Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Flavien Jules Constance très noble césar).

Reverse legend : PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS/ -|-//SMKB.
Reverse description : Porte de camp surmontée de deux tourelles et d'une étoile.

Commentary
Poids très léger. Avec son argenture superficielle. Petit buste inhabituel de très beau style. Six rangs verticaux de pierres.

Caesar
Constantius II was born on August 7, 318 in Sirmium. He was raised to the cesarat on November 8, 324 at the age of six. In 337, after the death of his father, it was he who murdered or allowed most of his collateral family, descendants of Constantius Chlorus and Theodora. Only Constance Galle and Julien escape the massacre.
