Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait réaliste de Constance Ier. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine marron foncé

Reverse description : Genius (Génie) debout à gauche, coiffé du modius, le manteau sur l'épaule gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et une corne d'abondance de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Genio Populi Romani”, (Au Génie du Peuple romain).

Commentary


Rubans de type 1 aux extrémités bouletées. Beau portrait allongé avec un cou large à la base. Au revers, la patère est pointée. Nous n’avons pas relevé de liaison de coin pertinente.
Type 1 ribbons with rounded ends. Beautiful elongated portrait with a wide neck at the base. On the reverse, the patera is pointed. We did not note any relevant corner bond.

Caesar

Constantius became Caesar on March 1, 293, at the same time as Galerius. He is the Caesar subordinate to Maximian while his colleague is to Diocletian. This is Tetrarchy. Constance is linked to Herculean parentage. He divorces Helen to marry Theodora, Maximian's daughter-in-law, while Galerius marries Galéria Valéria, daughter of Diocletian1/03/293-1/05/305.
