Ce double denier est frappé sur un flan légèrement concave au droit. La croix du revers apparaît en négatif au droit. Patine grise. Des faiblesse de frappe au niveau des légendes. De petites rayures superficielles

Robert of Geneva had been Bishop of Cambrai. He was elected pope in Avignon on September 20, 1378 after having supported Urban VI (1378-1389). He is the first pope of the Great Schism which will divide the West until 1415. He is recognized by France, Spain, Scotland and Sicily. He had to fight against Urban VI and especially Boniface IX. Benedict XIII succeeded him in Avignon.
