Trois pièces furent fabriquées pour la Grande Comore en l’an 1380 de l’hégire (1890) par l'atelier de Paris : 5 et 10 centimes et 5 francs. Ces pièces circulèrent jusqu'en 1912. Les pièces de 5 et 10 Centimes existent en deux variétés, avec les différents faisceau ou torche, ces dernières ayant été fabriquées en 1901.

The Comoros archipelago forms a group of islands located southeast of Africa, east of Tanzania and northwest of Madagascar. These islands are shared between an independent country, the Union of the Comoros, and Mayotte, a French overseas collectivity. In 1946, the islands are no longer administratively attached to Madagascar and form for the first time in their history a united and recognized administrative entity (TOM).
