Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré. Belle tête de Commode. Revers de frappe un peu molle. Patine grise superficielle avec des reflets dorés. A été nettoyé anciennement

Reverse description : Fortuna (la Fortune) debout à gauche, drapée, le pied posé sur une proue de navire, tenant un caducée de la main droite et une corne d’abondance de la main gauche ; une étoile dans le champ à gauche.
Reverse translation : “Pontifex Maximus Tribunicia Potestate septimum decimum Imperator octavum Consul septimum Pater Patriæ”, (Grand pontife, revêtu de la dix-septième puissance tribunitienne et de la huitième salutation impériale, consul pour la septième fois, père de la patrie).

Augustus

Commodus succeeded his father Marc Aurèle, who died in Vienna on March 17, 180. He hastened to conclude a truce with the Germanic tribes and then abandoned public life. The Empire was successively governed by the prefects of the Praetorium, Perennis from 182 to 185, Cléandre from 185 to 190, who were both assassinated. Commodus suffocated on the night of December 31, 192.
