Commentary

Cette médaille a été décernée au sénateur Georges Repiquet (1912-1988). Ingénieur agronome et fils de Jules Vincent Repiquet, qui est Gouverneur de La Réunion entre 1925 et 1932, il sera maire de Sainte-Suzanne (1945-1965), élu au Sénat à partir de 1955 pour être réélu en 1959, 1965 et 1974 au cours de laquelle il recevra cette médaille.
This medal was awarded to Senator Georges Repiquet (1912-1988). An agricultural engineer and son of Jules Vincent Repiquet, who was Governor of Réunion between 1925 and 1932, he was mayor of Sainte-Suzanne (1945-1965), elected to the Senate from 1955 to be re-elected in 1959, 1965 and 1974 during which he received this medal.
