Obverse description : Vue cavalière d'une ville (Vienne). Au premier plan, une porte flanquée de deux tours rondes, un pont de trois arches à gauche, un mur crénelé et percé d'une porte à droite, un tour carrée de chaque coté. A l'arriere-plan, des maisons à clochetons et une église. L'ensemble repose sur une frise de flanchis sous laquelle est, dans une arche trilobée, un écu aux armes (un dauphin) soutenu par deux griffons. A gauche de l'arche VIE, à droite de l'arche NE.
