La Grande-Motte (La Granda-Mota ou Lo Motàs en occitan) est une commune française située dans le département de l'Hérault en région Occitanie. Ses habitants sont les Grand-Mottois. Station balnéaire et port de plaisance à proximité de Montpellier, dont les travaux ont démarré en 1965 sur un terrain vierge lors de la « mission Racine », la Grande-Motte se caractérise par une grande homogénéité architecturale, dont les éléments les plus visibles sont les immeubles en forme de pyramides. La station accueille environ 120 000 touristes par an. La Grande-Motte a obtenu le 19 janvier 2010 le label « Patrimoine du XXe siècle », attribué par le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication. C'est le seul ensemble urbain en France de cette taille à avoir reçu ce label national.
