Commentary


Cet exemplaire, conservé dans un écrin bleu de la Monnaie de Paris, a été décerné à J. Sartres en 1987.
Diamètre sans bélière : 27,5 mm.
Le ruban d’origine présente l’attache argentée avec le A majuscule dans un médaillon d’où part une paire d’ailes.
This example, preserved in a blue case from the Monnaie de Paris, was awarded to J. Sartres in 1987. Diameter without bail: 27.5 mm. The original ribbon has the silver attachment with the capital A in a medallion from which a pair of wings extends.

The Fifth Republic, whose constitution was approved by referendum on September 28, 1958 by more than 79% of French people, only officially began with the installation of General de Gaulle as president on January 8, 1959. The constitution was amended on January 28, 1958. October 1962 by referendum where a majority of 62% of votes approves the election of the President of the Republic by direct universal suffrage.
