Commentary
(c.f.numismag).
The obverse of the mini-medal depicts a colored cornflower (colored resin). These two wildflowers continued to grow in the earth turned over by shells; they were often the only touch of color for soldiers in the trenches of the First World War. Since 1916, these flowers have become a true emblem of memory and solidarity with veterans, war victims, widows, and orphans. The reverse corresponds to the institutional reverse of the Monnaie de Paris without a date. (cfnumismag)
