Commentary
Le Comité de salut public est le premier organe du gouvernement révolutionnaire mis en place par la Convention pour faire face aux dangers qui menacent la République au printemps 1793 (invasion et guerre civile), le deuxième étant le Comité de sûreté générale. Il se réunit au deuxième étage du pavillon de Flore, rebaptisé pavillon de l'Égalité.
The Committee of Public Safety was the first organ of the revolutionary government established by the Convention to deal with the dangers threatening the Republic in the spring of 1793 (invasion and civil war), the second being the Committee of General Security. It met on the second floor of the Pavillon de Flore, renamed Pavillon de l'Égalité.
