Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, légèrement décentré au droit, sans trace de circulation. Plat de frappe de 7 à 8 heures au droit dû à la contremarque du revers. Une entaille de démonétisation à 1 heure au revers. Très jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Obverse description : Aphrodite, drapée, assise à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et couronnée par Éros volant à droite ; à l’exergue, une souris.
Reverse
Reverse description : Dionysos Pogon barbu, avec une couronne de vigne, à demi-nu, tenant un cep avec une grappe de raisin de la main droite et un thyrse long de la main gauche.

Contremarque au revers (aigle debout à gauche avec un trident levé) ; exemplaire avec une contremarque similaire (SNG. France 2. 13, pl. 1). Marque de démonétisation (entaille) visible à 1 heure à droite.

Historical background
CILICIA - NAGIDOS
(4th century BC)
Nagidos was located on the Cilician coast about forty kilometers west of Célendéris. Founded by the Samians, it experienced significant economic development from the end of the 5th century BC. The protective gods of the city were Dionysos and Aphrodite, recalling the Greek origin of the city, without any oriental contribution at the start. Only Pharnabazes seems to have minted coins in Nagidos. The coinage stops at the time of the Macedonian conquest in 333 BC.
