Exemplaire sur un flan irrégulier et légèrement échancré, bien centré, un peu court au revers. Très beau portrait, de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Usure plus importante au revers. Jolie patine vert noir lissée

CILICIA - KELENDERIS

(3rd - 1st century BC)

Célenderis, an important coastal city of Cilicia Trachea, located halfway between Nagidos and Aphrodisias, is said to have been founded by Sandokos. It was then colonized by the Samians. Its Persian standard coinage began in the middle of the 5th century and lasted until the arrival of Alexander the Great in Asia Minor. In Hellenistic times, the city underwent a new development which continued in Roman times..
