Commentary

L’empereur Xianfeng (1831-1861) est empereur de la dynastie Qing entre 1850 et 1861. Son règne est marqué par de nombreuses catastrophes naturelles, des révoltes internes et par les deux guerres de l’opium contre le Royaume-Uni. Il meurt de dépression peu après la chute de Pékin.
The Xianfeng Emperor (1831–1861) was emperor of the Qing Dynasty from 1850 to 1861. His reign was marked by numerous natural disasters, internal revolts, and the two Opium Wars against Britain. He died of depression shortly after the fall of Beijing.
