Exemplaire frappé sur un flan large et irrégulier. Ce denier est recouvert d’une patine foncée. Bel exemplaire avec des reliefs nets. La croix du revers apparaît en négatif au droit

D. Legros thinks that the viscounty of Châteaudun was under the influence of the counts of Blois and Chartres. Under Thibaut V le Bon, three viscounts succeeded each other in Châteaudun: Hugues IV (1136-1166), Geoffroy IV (1166-1183) and Hugues V (1183-1215). The coin becomes Viscount from Geoffroy V (1215-1235) in 1218.
