Cette médaille fait partie d’une série d’oeuvres d’un même artiste resté anonyme, qui comporte l’effigie de Charles IX (BnF et collection Kress) et celle de François II (Mazerolle 351, collection Fau 531). La deuxième porte la date de 1561, tout comme la nôtre.
